April 2, 2025 - Hope for Every Day

April is National Month of Hope, so let's look at ways we are able to be people who live with hope and extend hope to others throughout April and all year long. Daysoftheyear (dot) com says, "The  National Month of Hope seeks to act as a reminder that there can always be brighter days ahead!

April 1, 2025 - Today, and Every Day, Listen to and Believe the Truth

Today, and every day, the truth matters. If you are lonely, marginalized, bullied, experiencing physical or mental challenges, or are part of the queer community, you likely hear negative things directed your way. First of all, I am SO sorry this happens to you. You do NOT deserve to be treated badly for any reason. I want to share just a few words of truth to hopefully encourage you today -

March 31, 2025 - Transgender Day of Visibility

Today is Transgender Day of Visibility, so I'm talking about this today. First of all, I am an Ally. I care and I will always stand up for and with those who need an ally. I also have people I dearly love who are trans and queer, so today, and every day, I am for visibility and acceptance for them. I am happy so many people in cities around the world stood up to celebrate and stand up for Transgender People yesterday - absolutely another thing to celebrate today on Transgender Day of Visibility.

March 28, 2025 - The Truth Matters

The truth matters and while I've shared these things before, they are well worth sharing again. I know the past few months have been difficult for many of you, but please know, just because the person who currently lives in the white house "declares" something to be a certain way, it does not make it the truth. I am not a scientist, biologist, or doctor, but I am able to read and learn from people who are. I believe the truth and facts do matter and I will live accordingly.

Science allows us to look at our DNA under a microscope and we now know this shows us the following -

March 27, 2025 - Sad Days

Sad days. They are something all of us experience. Today is a sad day for me, so this will be short, but I want to focus on things which are true.

March 26, 2025 - "I'm Sorry to Say So . . ."

The Dr. Seuss Quote for today is,  "I'm sorry to say so but, sadly it's true - that bang-ups and hang-ups can happen to you!"  This is true. Bang-ups and hang-ups can and will happen to us, but it is essential for us to hold on to the truth of how there is a huge difference between who we really are and the things which happen to us. It is far too easy for us to think negative things about ourselves when "bang-ups and hang-ups" happen to us. We all have "bang-ups and hang-ups" happen to us and we are all still people of incredible worth, dignity, and importance. So, today I want to again share some of the truths about who you really are -

March 25, 2025 - "Step With Care and Great Tact . . ."

The Dr. Seuss Quote for today is"Step with care and great tact. And remember life's a great balancing act!" Life has it's "stages" and "moments" and we need to walk though it with a mind for "balance" and for showing grace to others - including yourself. Yesterday I heard someone talking about how they never give themselves the benefit of the doubt or notice when they do something well, so when others do this for them, it really got them to thinking about how they should go easier on themselves. Far too often this is true for many of us, so today I want to take a minute to share affirmations I found on the verywellmind.com where they said, Positive self-affirmations are usually short, simple statements you come up with on your own based on your own needs and emotions. But self-affirmations have a more universal application, too. It’s okay to use more generalized, pre-written affirmations if you feel they apply well to you.

Here are some positive mental health affirmations to get you started:
