The Dr. Seuss Quote for today . . . "Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So . . . get on your way!" Did you know Dr. Seuss was turned down 27 times by publishers before his first book was published? He could have just stopped submitting manuscripts to publishers, but he didn't give up.The 28th time was when his book was accepted and now 86 Dr. Seuss books are out there for children to enjoy! I'm sure those 27 publishers who didn't publish his books wish they had said "yes"!
What is your "mountain" just waiting for you to "climb" it? What can you do to "get on your way" today? We all have challenges and goals and while we may sometimes feel overwhelmed by them, remember, the following truths -
- You are not alone - it may feel like it at times, but there are people who love you. When facing a "mountain", pull closer to these people and be watching for ways to add to this group. As I've said before, connect with support groups in your area as they can be great places to make friends. Any "journey" is easier, and more enjoyable, when spent with people who love and support you. Accept their love and be sure to love them back.
- Next, make sure you have clear goals to help you "get on your way". Know what it is you want to accomplish and develop a plan to help you get there. Then, as you move forward, you are able to do so knowing where you are going.
- Be sure to make time to rest. You need time to restore your energy and focus, so spend time in nature, with music, or around art - or all three! I say this a lot, but it is because nature, music, and art are good for our soul and help us relax and build our strength.
- Find time to give back. Connect with a group you care about and give your time to help others.
- Don't give up! Remember Dr. Seuss' example and keep your "mountain", your goals in view!
- Celebrate as you "reach the top" of your "mountains", and then find a new "mountain" to "climb"!
I hope you take these words to heart. Here is my virtual "hug" for today -You matter. You deserve to be loved and are loved - I love you! You make our world a better place - we need you in this world. I hope you have people around you who tell you these things, but if not, please let me be someone who does. Yes, I say this every day, but these words are true and will always be so. You will find the video at this link.
