April 11, 2025 - The Truth - You Matter

Today I want to talk about something I think is very important - your own sense of well-being. There have been several stories in the news which are upsetting, to say the least, and something someone said made me think. They said it doesn't matter what the current occupant of the White House says or does, they can not get rid of, erase, or end trans and queer people. While this is true - executive orders are not law, they are directives for the federal government to follow and NOTHING that person says or does is able to get rid of, erase, or end trans and queer people - the way the things he says and does makes you feel does matter because you matter.

Yes, let me say it again, you matter. You deserve to be respected. You deserve to be able to travel without fear. You deserve to live as much as anyone in this country. You deserve to not feel like people want to "erase" you. You deserve to be loved and to be able to love others. So, yes. It matters how the things which are said and done make you feel.

And, as someone who dearly loves people who are trans/queer, I want to say it matters for "so-called leaders" in our country to be so disrespectful and outright cruel to people who are just trying to live their own lives. If anyone should have their job "erased" it is the current occupant of the White House as congress should impeach and convict him.

So, please let me say once again - and please take this to heart - you matter. You deserve to be respected. You deserve to be able to travel without fear. You deserve to live as much as anyone in this country. You deserve to not feel like people want to "erase" you. You deserve to be loved and to be able to love others. So, yes. It matters how the things which are said and done make you feel. Please surround yourself with the people who love you and who stand up for you and know the truth - you matter.

So, again today, I want to send you another virtual "hug" - some days we need more than one hug - You matter. You deserve to be loved and are loved - I love you! You make our world a better place - we need you in this world. I hope you have people around you who tell you these things, but if not, please let me be someone who does.
