April 24, 2025 - More Support is Available

As I take time to talk with you I have been hesitant to talk much about Jesus and His love for you. The reason for this is because I know far too often people who claim to love and follow Him, do not do what He did or talk like He did - Jesus made it clear by what He said and what He did how very much He truly loves everyone and wants those who follow Him to do the same. Today I want to talk about this because it matters. 

So many things in our world today are scary and uncertain. But, when we know Jesus loves us - and He ABSOLUTELY does - we are able to have something firm to hold on to - no matter what is going on around us. We all need this love, this certainty, this confidence. 

While I know some of the most hurtful and hateful words and actions out there are coming from those who claim to follow Jesus, please know these people do NOT reflect Jesus in any way at all and there are many of us who do follow Him and who offer love, acceptance, and support to all people - regardless of where they are from, the color of their skin, whether they are queer or straight, and whether they have physical/emotional/mental challenges or not. Some of us really do follow Jesus' example when it comes to loving and accepting ALL people.

I know it is often difficult to find churches with this type of "real Jesus love" - churches which are diverse, but these churches do exist - most likely they will be Methodist, Lutheran, Episcopalian, Presbyterian, or possibly Christian Reformed - please find the ones which are near you and consider connecting with them. Especially with the person who currently lives in the white house and all the uncertainty he brings to the world, we all need to have as large a support group around us as possible - and if you include Jesus and people who really do follow Him in your support group, this will be an extremely positive and tremendously helpful thing for you. I'd like to encourage you today to see if you have a church in your area with people in it who REALLY do talk and live as Jesus did.

So, once again today I want to send you my virtual "hug" - You matter. You deserve to be loved and are loved - I love you! You make our world a better place - we need you in this world. I hope you have people around you who tell you these things, but if not, please let me be someone who does. Yes, I say this every day, but these words are true and will always be so.
