February 28, 2025 - More Poems to Encourage You From S.C. Lourie and Kathy J. Parenteau

Each day this week I've shared a couple poems in the hopes they will encourage you. As I've said, words have power and are able to lift our spirits while also challenging us to make choices which help us become stronger. There will be days
when your heart will break.
And there will be days when
your heart will soar.
There will be days when
your heart will doubt.
There will be days when
your heart will believe.
There will be days when
your heart fatigues.
There will be days when
your heart pulsates thunder.
You just keep going.
Keep walking.
Because that’s how we find
beautiful places.

One day it will
dawn on you.
You have always
found a way to rise.
You are already
the miracle you seek.
You are worthy of joy.
You are worthy of peace.
Yes, one day it will
dawn on you just
how precious your
life is and that
you are worth
fighting for.

If I were to leave this world today, I'd want to be remembered, it's true,
for going that extra mile just to show my love for you.
I'd want for you to be proud of me and know I always tried.
When you hurt, I did, too; your tears I also cried.
I'd want you to be compassionate to never turn away
from someone who might need a hug or encouragement one day.
I'd want you to know I'm sorry if I ever caused you pain.
I hope you learn from my mistakes and
forgive me just the same.
There are no second chances when God
says it's time to go.
We only have today to let our feelings show.
Remember this when you say your prayers and count your blessings tonight,
and treasure every precious moment God gives you in this life.

I hope you take these words to heart. Here is my virtual "hug" for today - You matter. You deserve to be loved and are loved - I love you! You make our world a better place - we need you in this world. I hope you have people around you who tell you these things, but if not, please let me be someone who does.
