March 26, 2025 - "I'm Sorry to Say So . . ."

The Dr. Seuss Quote for today is,  "I'm sorry to say so but, sadly it's true - that bang-ups and hang-ups can happen to you!"  This is true. Bang-ups and hang-ups can and will happen to us, but it is essential for us to hold on to the truth of how there is a huge difference between who we really are and the things which happen to us. It is far too easy for us to think negative things about ourselves when "bang-ups and hang-ups" happen to us. We all have "bang-ups and hang-ups" happen to us and we are all still people of incredible worth, dignity, and importance. So, today I want to again share some of the truths about who you really are -

  • You matter.
  • You deserve to be loved.
  • You are loved.
  • You make our world a better place.
  • We need you in our world.
  • You are an amazing, unique person.
  • You matter as much as anyone else.
  • You are able to make a difference.
  • You deserve to have dreams and the opportunity to make them come true.
  • You deserve to be treated kindly and with respect.
These are just a few of the truths about who you really are, but please take these truths to heart, hold on to them, believe them - especially on a day when you experience "bang-ups and hang-ups".

And, today, just for the fun of it, it is as special day - it is Make Up Your Own Holiday - and I think a day to celebrate you is a fantastic idea! Choose somethings you especially enjoy - activities (such as riding your bike, spending time in nature, making music or art) and add some of your favorite foods or snacks, then gather a few friends or family and celebrate! You are absolutely MOST worthy of being celebrated!

Once again, please take these words to heart as you are worthy of loving and accepting yourself - and be sure to take time to affirm others as well. Once again today I want to send you my virtual "hug" - You matter. You deserve to be loved and are loved - I love you! You make our world a better place - we need you in this world. I hope you have people around you who tell you these things, but if not, please let me be someone who does. Yes, I say this every day, but these words are true and will always be so. You will find the video at this link.
